Spanish Immersion
Preschool

At Learning Train Academy, our Preschool and Pre-K program nurtures curiosity and confidence through play-based learning. In our warm, caring environment, children follow their interests, spark their imaginations, and learn naturally through hands-on discovery, all while developing bilingual skills in English and Spanish. By supporting the whole child, we help children grow in independence, responsibility, and self-control, building a strong foundation for the thinkers and leaders of tomorrow.

Enrollment

The final step in our enrollment process is Enrollment. At this stage, your child’s spot is secured once tuition and the enrollment fee are paid, and a start date has been agreed upon. With our rolling admissions, this step officially welcomes your family to Learning Train Academy! We'll send you a link to our parent portal for further communications.

Enrollment Steps

What to Bring

Please provide a pair of shoes to be kept at the center for your child to wear indoors. We also ask that each child has a spare change of clothes (shirt, pants, underwear, and socks) in their cubby, just in case of spills, messes, or bathroom accidents. Having extras on hand helps keep your child comfortable and ready for a fun day of learning and play!

Backpacks & Toys

Children are welcome to bring a backpack each day or leave one in their cubby, though backpacks are not required. We kindly ask that toys from home stay at home to prevent loss or distractions. However, a small stuffed animal is welcome to help with the transition from home to school and to provide comfort during quiet time.

Parent Portal

Access our Parent Portal through Brightwheel to stay connected with your child’s daily activities, messages, billing, and important updates all in one place. Log in anytime for real-time communication and peace of mind.

Sick Policy

To help keep all students and staff healthy, we ask that children stay home when they are sick. If your child has a fever of 100.4°F or higher, they must remain home and may return only after being fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

Birthdays

At Learning Train Academy, we love celebrating birthdays! Families are welcome to bring a special treat to share with the class. We kindly ask that you check with your child’s teacher in advance, as there may be students with food allergies. Thanks for helping us make your child’s day fun and safe for everyone!

Trial Period and Exiting the Program

When you enroll your child at Learning Train Academy, we have a 2-week trial period to ensure it’s the right fit, for both your family, and our program. This allows time for your child to adjust, and for us to work together in creating the best possible experience. If you choose to withdraw your child from our program, we kindly ask for a 30-day written notice. This helps us plan accordingly and support a smooth transition for your child and our classroom community.

Classrooms

Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed with young children in mind. Safe, welcoming, and filled with age-appropriate materials that spark curiosity and support hands-on learning. Each space is arranged to encourage exploration, independence, and social interaction in a calm, nurturing environment. To ensure the health and safety of every child, our classrooms are cleaned and sanitized daily using child-safe products, so families can feel confident knowing their little ones are learning and playing in a clean, well-cared-for space.

Nutrition Program

We provide nutritious, balanced meals to fuel growing minds and bodies. Breakfast, lunch, and two snacks are served daily and included in tuition. All food is prepared fresh in-house, with care and attention to the needs of young children. No packing lunches needed, we’ve got it covered!

Outdoor Areas

Our outdoor space is designed for active play and big movement! With toys, ride-on trikes, and teacher-led games, children build gross motor skills and engage in kinesthetic learning every day. We also love to explore beyond our play yard, going on walks (on foot or in a buggy) and visiting nearby parks for even more fresh air and adventure.

Drop off/Pick up

Check-in and check-out are now fully digital for your convenience. Simply use the tablet located at the front desk or in your child’s classroom each day. For safety, only individuals listed on your authorized pick-up list may take your child home. If someone not on the list will be picking up, we require written notification in advance. A photo ID is required for anyone we do not recognize, please be sure to let them know ahead of time.

Transportation

Transportation may be available for students enrolled in a Vancouver Public Schools TK program who wish to extend their learning at Learning Train Academy in the afternoons or on VPS no-school days. Please note that transportation is not provided to or from private residences. Contact us for more information.

Toilet Training

We help your child with toilet training. It is part of growing up. We will encourage them to keep trying and reward them with positive praise. When accidents occur we  use it as a learning experience. Please provide spare clothes, underwear/ pull-ups and wipes. Children do not have to be potty-trained to attend.
